Why does my course say 99%?
Good news: your work is submitted and waiting for an instructor to review it. Instructors review work within 24 to 48 hours, and then the course moves to 100% and your certificate appears on My Certificates. See Why is my course at 99%?
How long does grading take?
Instructors review reflections and assignments within 24 to 48 hours. Pending submissions in graduate credit courses are scored within 1 to 2 business days. You can keep working while you wait. See How your course is graded.
I uploaded the wrong file. How do I resubmit?
Once you submit, the module locks so your work can't change by accident. Our team can reopen it: send us the email address on your account, the course title, and the module name or number. If your instructor returned your work with comments, the module may already be open. See Resubmitting an assignment.
How long do I have to finish my bundle?
You have one year from the day you bought your bundle to pick your courses and finish them. Hours or credits you haven't used by then expire. See How long you have to use your bundle.
Do I have to pick all my courses at once?
No. Enroll in a few courses, finish them, and come back for more whenever you like, as long as it's within one year of buying your bundle. See How long you have to use your bundle.
When does the class start?
Whenever you're ready. Every course is self-paced, with no set start date or class times: a course starts as soon as it's on your My Courses page, and the platform saves your progress as you go. See How courses get into your account.
Can I add more hours to my bundle?
A bundle can't be upgraded after you buy it. Instead, buy another bundle of the size you need. Its hours or credits add to the same account, and the new bundle has its own year. See How long you have to use your bundle.
Will my transcript come from Model Teaching?
No. Your transcript comes from the university you chose for each course, after you pay for your credits. The university emails you instructions for ordering it. See Ordering your transcript.
How do I pay for my credits and request my transcript?
After your course is graded and shows 100%, pay the credit fee, $70 per credit, at credits.modelteaching.com (opens in a new tab). If you bought the course on the UMass Global website, credit processing is already included, so follow your course's last module instead. Your university then emails you instructions for ordering your transcript. See Paying for your credits.
How long until I get my transcript?
After you pay, we send your credits to your university on Mondays. Each university takes a different amount of time; University of the Pacific, currently our fastest, takes 5 to 10 business days. Electronic transcripts are ready as soon as the university's email arrives. See How long credits take.
I need my transcript by a deadline. What should I do?
Finish your courses and pay your credit fees about a month before the transcript is due, and check whether the transcript must reach your district by that date. If your deadline is close, contact us right away: our team can recommend the best university for your remaining credits or ask for faster processing. See Meeting a deadline.
Will my district accept these credits?
We can't confirm any one district's rules for you. Graduate credits from an accredited university, with an official transcript and a letter grade, are the kind most districts accept, but check with yours before you start. See Hours, credits, and district approval.
Where do I get a syllabus for district approval?
Build a syllabus and request an approval packet for any credit course at approval.modelteaching.com (opens in a new tab). The packet gathers syllabi, university approval letters, and sample transcripts in one place. See Course codes and syllabi for your district.
How many credits can I take per semester?
Each university accepts up to 15 credits per semester. If you need more in one semester, contact us before you enroll, and we'll help you move courses to another university partner. We also recommend no more than 3 credits a week. See When to process credits.
What is the NY CTLE sponsor number?
Our New York CTLE sponsor number is 23730, and 1 PD hour counts as 1 CTLE hour. Before you finish each course, fill in the New York form in its IMPORTANT - Certificate Requirements module so your instructor can send you a CTLE certificate. See New York: CTLE certificates.
What do I send TEA when I renew?
We don't file with TEA for you. Download your certificates from My Certificates, keep them for your records, and list Model Teaching, CPE provider #902-391, when you file your renewal. See Texas: CPE hours and renewal.
Do you report my Act 48 hours to PERMS?
Yes. Fill in the form in the IMPORTANT - Certificate Requirements module for every course, before you submit the course. We upload completed courses about twice a week, usually on Tuesdays and Fridays, and we email you when your hours are uploaded. See Pennsylvania: Act 48 and PERMS.
My Act 48 hours aren't in PERMS. Why?
Almost every time, the Certificate Requirements form wasn't submitted for that course. Open the course's IMPORTANT - Certificate Requirements module and submit the form, and your hours go up with the next upload. See My hours aren't in PERMS.
How do Illinois teachers get ISBE hours?
Through Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU), because Illinois requires an in-state partner. After you finish an NEIU course, submit the NEIU certificate request form for that course, then log your hours in ELIS within 60 days of finishing. See Illinois: ISBE clock hours through NEIU.
Can I get graduate credit for PD hours I already completed?
Yes, through University of the Pacific: 1 credit for every 15 PD hours. The conversion costs $70 per credit, and each full-length course adds a short writing assignment. See Turning PD hours into graduate credit.
Are there essays?
No course requires a long essay. The writing is short reflections, answers to a few questions, and your plan. Graduate credit courses add a few short pieces, such as a summary of about 150 words of a study related to the course. See Credit course assignments.
Can I use Google Docs?
Yes. Upload the Word template to Google Docs, fill it in, then download it as a PDF and upload the PDF to your course. The NON-WORD PDF GENERATOR button in each assignment is another way to fill in a template without Word. See Filling in your templates.
Do I need to be teaching right now?
No. You don't need a classroom or students to finish a course. If a template asks about your class, use a grade level and subject you have taught or would like to teach. See Downloading editable course documents.
Where are my certificates?
Click My Certificates in the left menu of your course dashboard, then click the download icon next to the course. See Downloading your certificates.
Can you tell me my password?
No, our team can't see or send your password. Reset it with Forgot your password? on the login page, and never send your password to anyone. See Can't log in?
Who do I contact about a refund or billing?
Email our billing team at billing@modelteaching.com with the email address on your account and what you bought. The billing team answers questions about charges, receipts, invoices, and refunds. See Getting help.
