Hours, credits, and district approval
Our courses come in two versions, and they're used for different things.

When a state or district asks for "credits," "semester hours," or "college credit," you need the graduate credit version.
Will my district or state accept my course?
We can't confirm any one district's or state's rules for you. Graduate credits from an accredited university, with an official transcript and a letter grade, are the kind most districts accept, but check with yours before you start. For pre-approval, build a syllabus and request an approval packet at approval.modelteaching.com (opens in a new tab). See Course codes and syllabi for your district.
Notes for some states
- Maryland: renewal requires semester credits, so choose the graduate credit version.
- Florida: a renewal's "6 hours" means 6 semester credits. For the students with disabilities requirement, Florida prefers courses with "Disabilities" in the title.
- Nevada: Model Teaching is an approved provider, so PD hour courses count.
- Illinois: hours come through NEIU. See Illinois: ISBE clock hours through NEIU.
