Moving through a course

Every course is self-paced. You can stop at any time and pick up where you left off, because the platform saves your progress.
The course home page
When you launch a course, its home page shows:
- % Completed, Modules Completed, and Time spent learning
- Left to Expiry, the days of access you have left, and your Enrollment date
- View Gradebook, for your scores and your instructor's feedback. See Seeing your grades and instructor feedback.
- Continue Course, which opens the first module you haven't finished
- All Modules, a list of every module with its progress, status, type, and Launch Module
Moving between modules
Inside a module, the blue bar at the top has Back to All Modules, Jump to Module (a numbered list of every module), Previous Module, and Next Module.
You can open modules in any order, but the order shown works best, because your final plan builds on each section's reflection. Watch for instructions at the bottom of each module, usually in a light blue box.
How a course is organized
A full-length PD course, such as Peer Tutoring for English Language Learners (8 Hrs), has:
- Introduction & Resources: a welcome video, how the course is graded, and an optional download of editable course documents
- Sections, each with a lesson, a short reflection, and usually a quiz
- Putting It All Together: your final plan
- Implementation Tasks: a course recap, an Effectiveness Rubric, and an Implementation Observation Checklist you can share with a colleague or administrator
- Closing: Course Feedback, IMPORTANT - Certificate Requirements, and End of Course
A graduate credit course follows the same pattern and adds an Action Plan, a Resource Design, a Research Connections Reflection, and a Final Implementation Project Plan. It ends with End of Course - TRANSCRIPT INSTRUCTIONS, which explains how to get your credits. See Credit course assignments.
A Quick Course has one lesson, a final quiz, a short reflection, and a few closing modules.
No course requires a long essay. The writing is short reflections, answers to a few questions, and your plan. You don't need a classroom or students to finish a course.
What each module asks you to do
